Weekend of Fun

We found ourselves going home to Alabama a few weekends ago (no suprise there). Here are some of my favorite pictures from our weekend:
Baylor loves playing with his cousin Madison, but mostly he enjoys sitting with her why they watch cartoons. He doesn't care that she is 7 years older than him, he loves her anyways.

Then we got to go eat and have some play time at Papa's Pizza overlooking the Mobile Bay:

He really enjoyed driving the race car game and even tried to butt in on Scott's play time!

We had a nice sunset that evening:

Then Baylor's favorite friend/godsister came over to swim in the pool and eat cupcakes. I love watching these two play together. He is always trying to love on Emma and giver her hugs.

Yea, I won!

I entered in this giveaway and actually one. This SAHM does some great work. Check BizzyB's out!

Bridgette's Shower

One of my best friends Bridgette, is due to have her first child in October. I went home this past weekend for her babyshower where she got soooo many cute things.... one of them being the cute frame I made for Koy. I also made him and Alabama tag blanket, bought them a bottle drying rack and gave them an extra, never used boppy slip cover. The shower was a success and I don't think she will be needing a whole lot more. I cannot be happier for such a good friend, that I know will truely make a great mother!

Projects

I have been working on so much stuff lately, I haven't been able to complete anything so I have 5 projects that are 1/2 done. This one I did finish, because her shower is this Saturday! One of my best friends, Bridgette Klinner (Ganey) is due to have Koy in October. I have seen the fabric she has picked out for his room and I have the colors right. The only thing is she is doing it with STRIPED Navy Blue and White with lime green accessories so I hope the polka dots will add some character to the room and not throw it off! If so, she can always put it on her desk at work or some where else in the house. I'll start posting more pictures of my projects as I complete them... one day!

Weekend Wrap Up

Man, I feel so tired, even though this is the most laid back weekend we had in awhile! Friday, Baylor and I found ourselves at Chick-fil-a for another lunch date but this time we got to go with Mrs. Erin, Griffin and Landon which was lots of fun. Here is a picture of him with his Chick-fil-a bag.

Then Baylor had a therapy session with Mrs. Megan at 1:30 P.M. on Friday that went so-so this week, seeing he was lacking rest from his short nap. After dinner as usual, Baylor headed for the tub where we had lots of fun putting buckets on each others heads.

I love this cute grin of his....

Daddy got home and they had fun wrestling around in the bed for awhile.

Practicing his karate kick.

Then Daddy made him get down off the bed because he was horsing around too much. Baylor got mad and ran off. He was being awfully quiet so I went on the hunt for him. I found him in his toy box in front of the t.v. watching cartoons.

Then he got mad when he noticed I was taking his picture....

Saturday, Baylor and I headed into work for a couple of hours and then around town for some short errands. When we got back home, Daddy laid him down for his nap and we started yard work. Sat. evening, Scott went to an aneurysm outreach with some friends while Baylor and I stayed at home being lazy. We played in my bedroom in front of the window for a long time and I got some sweet shots of him.

Loving on the pig his Nana gave him... Working his abs on the "wheel" like Daddy.

He went to bed and I finished sewing a tag blanket for my best friends baby shower this weekend. Sunday we all woke up at the same time, had breakfast and went off to church. We made a quick stop at Wal-Mart afterwards and then headed home for everyone to have a nap. After our naps, we played lazily around the house and then Baylor started to get cabin fever. Him and I headed outside to play and then for a nice bike ride around the neighborhood. He was just going with the flow all weekend and didn't care where we were, as long as we were playing and chasing each other around. At some point we ended up back in my room playing in front of the window and I got some more cute shots. This one is my favorite....

I love this little guy so much!

Friday Fun Fact

Did you know sugar DOES NOT cause hyperactivity?.... Crazy right? But it's true! I read that studies have found that small amounts of sugar can increase a child's focus and calmness. It's still best to limit sweets since they are typically low on nutrients though. The only reason your child is running around crazy at a birthday party is not from the cake, it's from the excitement of everything else going on and the other kids running around full of excitement!

Scott's 30th Birthday

We celebrated Scott's 30th birthday with a little family party at home. Very simple but alot was involved, especially when you have a 20 month old you are trying to run errands with. We made a cookie cake that I had a heck of a time getting started on seeing that the Hobby Lobby cashier left some of the decorating items out of my bag and I had to drive all the way back to get them! I finally got it baked (overdone is my specialty) and decorated with the help of my little assistantBaylor.

We had ordered pizza, Dad's favorite is pineapple and ham , and had his favorite

drink Diet Dr. Pepper. When Scott came home we had all the lights out and the candles lit on the ugliest cookie cake you have now ever seen and sang happy birthday to him.

Then Baylor helped him blow out the candles.

We had a shirt for him but of course it was too little for Daddy's big arms so we had to take it back :( And he asked for some Men's Health Fitness magazines instead. It was a great day Baylor and I had fun prepping for and that I know Scott enjoyed.

Weekend Flashback

This Monday I find myself extremely exhausted from the long weekend we had. I may be tired but I'm happy to be this tired. I am content and filled with happiness thanks to all the fun we've had with our little boy. Within the last week, Baylor has shown a significant change since starting his antibiotics for his ears. I hope it is truly working because for the 1st time in 9 months, I feel like I have my sweet little boy back. He is happy all the time, laughing, not crying or whining... just going with the flow. He has been tolerating shopping, going to work with Mom and long days of being out and about. 2 weeks ago, I would have never been able to do all the things we did this weekend with the way Baylor was acting before he started the antibiotics. We stayed busy all weekend from Friday to Monday with family time, birthday parties and work. Baylor and I started our Friday off with a date to Chick-fila and Target. Then Friday night, Baylor spent quality time with Daddy while Mommy went to a paint class with some girlfriends. Saturday morning, Baylor and I headed in to my job to get some things caught up. Then we went to Old Navy to start buying Baylor a winter wardrobe, taking advantage of the tax free weekend. From there, we headed home for Baylor's nap. As soon as Baylor was up at 1:15P.M., we headed to our first birthday party of the day, which was Griffin's 5th over at Mrs. Erin's house (this is my friend that watches Baylor while I work). Baylor had a great time with the skateboard decorations, all the other kids and swimming in the pool. Daddy met us there after he got off from work to share some ice cream and cake with Baylor. We all had a blast, as you can see:

Then we loaded up and headed to our next birthday party of the day: Landry's, who turned 1 year old. At this party, there was a clown that was doing face paint. I didn't know how he would do with a strange looking clown painting his face so we attempted to paint his arm and he didn't mind! So he got a crocodile on his arm.

Baylor was really intrigued with Landry's presents and was getting into them before Landry was. I had a hard time keeping him away from a plastic "Little People's" wagon he wanted to push around (now I know what else to get him for Christmas). He also really enjoyed the Elmo riding toy that had a propeller that he enjoyed stopping and going, stopping and going.

Baylor got to hang out with good friends like Ashton, my friend Christian's little boy. They attempted to blow on party favors but it ended up just sticking them in there mouth like they were stogies.

On Sunday, Baylor and I actually slept until 7:15 A.M. We got up and I made him and his Daddy some scrambled eggs, toast and bacon for breakfast. Then Baylor and I spent the morning playing around the house while Daddy went to church. When Baylor went down for his nap, I ran out to cut the front yard so I will not have to do it on my off days this week :). When Baylor woke up, him and I headed to meet Scott at the gym to have Sunday Funday at the pool. We stopped at McDonald's on the way in to grab us something to eat. We sat out under the pavilion by the pool and had a nice little picnic together.

Then we headed for the pool which Baylor just enjoys more than any thing! The boy tries to be a fish in the water, though he doesn't know how to swim yet. What he does know is that he has to keep his mouth closed when he goes under water. He even dunks himself under and will pop back up all on his own. He would try to swim out to his daddy in the deep end and would love it when Daddy jumped into the pool with him! We had such a nice family afternoon together at the pool.

What a wonderful weekend with my wonderful family and friends!
