St. Patty's Day 2011

We love St. Patrick's Day and this year we were able to take Baylor to his first Baton Rouge St. Patrick's Day Parade. I have to watch Baylor closely because if he's not in his stroller, he wants to run where ever, whenever he wants. Luckily I remembered to grab the "Monkey" harness. I hate saying it's a leash because I do not condone putting a leash on a child at any time but this is more of a creative backpack with a strap so I can keep him within reach. It's the best Wal-Mart purchase we have made by far! This year we went with some friends, in particular my friend Nadia and her daughter Jayden. They had a great time and really got into the parade. They were waving at everyone on the floats and ended up getting so much thrown to them!

Baylor and Jayden crack me up. You would have sworn they were boyfriend and girlfriend. I was able to capture one of their moments and it was just so sweet....I can't tell who's kissing who but afterward, I snapped a shot of Jayden's expression; it was priceless!

I love taking Baylor to outings like this, where we have a great family day and get to spend time with good friends as well. I hope your St. Patrick's Day was as "lucky" as ours.

Taking a look back....

This time 3 years ago in March 2008, I became pregnant with my 1st child:

About this time 2 years ago in March 2009, I had a sweet, 3 month old, blue eyed boy who depended on me for everything:

About this time 1 year ago in 2010, I had a sweet, 15 month old that was just learning to walk:

And this year, in March 2011, I still have a sweet, blue eyed boy, who is now a little over 2.

He is growing up to fast in front of me and I wish I could freeze him in time. He isn't depended on me anymore. He's gone from baby to little man over night. Last year he may have just learned how to walk but that walking turned into running in no time. He loves to jump in the bed and play in the dirt. He doesn't say much, but he loves a whole lot. He's a Mommy's boy and on some days he's a Daddy's boy. He loves to laugh and be tickled under his arms. He thrives being outside. He loves potato chips. His favorite movies are Despicable Me and Toy Story 3. He loves books. He splashes alot in the tub. He loves riding in his Cozy Coupe. He loves babies. He wrestles with his Daddy. He's the best snuggler and the sweetest thing ever in the mornings. He hates to go to bed. He's a picky eater. He's a hugger. All in all he's a typical 2 year old boy and I love every bit of him! I can't believe how much has changed in the last few years, they are just coming and going so quickly. I know I can't freeze time but I know I will always remember this wonderful, curious and exciting age!

Up to No Good

This is the face of a child up to no good...

and I love it! I've noticed lately that when he is being devilish or concentrating very hard, he sticks his tongue out. Boys will be boys.

Mardi Gras 2011

Scott has been in the Mobile Mystic Stripers for 10 years now; it's a Brady family tradition: his Dad has been in it for years and years, then Scott joined at 21 and his brother joined just a few years ago. It's the one night a year we are guaranteed a "date night" where Scott gets to dress up in a funny looking costume to throw moon pies from a float and I get to spend too much money trying to be the "Belle of the Ball". Still, we always end up having a good time with family and friends. We eat, drink, dance, talk and laugh with friends all night long (typically until 1:30 or 2 A.M.) And it never fails that every single year we run into someone we haven't seen in years. Here's a picture recap of this years ball....

Scott and I (he's supposed to be a fireman)...

Scott and I with his parents....The entire Brady Bunch.....The Girls....

Stephanie and I.....

Stephanie is not only a great friend but she is also Baylor's Godmother. Her husband Ryan (Baylor's Godfather) and Scott have been best friend's since the sixth grade and I am so happy Ryan and Stephanie found each other. The have a daughter, Emma that is 3 years old and they just had a little boy Mason in January. She looks great for just having a baby!
